The hardback book features 72 seasonal recipes (20 new ones), photos of farmers, mention of over 30 farmers in the headnotes, color photos of finished recipes, and a year of monthly seasonal party themes using recipes from the book.

 

California Specialty Crops: A Guide to Their Use in School Lunch, 2014, coauthored with Georgeanne Brennan, published by the Yolo County Department of Agriculture as part of the California Department of Food and Agriculture’s Specialty Crop Block Grant Program. The book has family style recipes by season and links the recipes to a Nutri Kids format, scaled to 50 and 100 for school food service use.

 

Davis Farmers Market Cookbook – Tasting California’s Small Farms, 2012, coauthor with Georgeanne Brennan. Purchase from the Davis Farmers Market, Yolo County, California. With a Forward by Alice Waters, Reflections from market manager Randii MacNear, and the story of the market’s founding by Ann Evans, this 230 page book has color photos by Craig Lee and recipes, by season.

 

Cooking with California Food in K-12 Schools, 2011, coauthored with Georgeanne Brennan, published by Center for Ecoliteracy. The book is available in Spanish and English and is a free download from the CEL website. The book introduces recipes in a 6-5-4 methodology. Six foods kids know and love, five flavor profiles, and four seasons.

 

A World of Good Tastes! A Classroom Cooking Manual, 2011, coauthored with Georgeanne Brennan, published by the California Department of Education.  This cooking manual is designed to assist classroom teachers and after school staff in teaching students to cook from scratch by using raw, seasonal produce, in five flavor profiles. It assists them in learning about seasonal foods, nutrition, and the variety of cultures in California since the 1850’s.
